Went to Austin to be with family for the war on christmas, foolish though to drive thru texican lands without our shots. Excellent dinner my son made, spent lots of time with extended family one is a phd climate scientist, very interesting he and his studies.
Will expound on some of these climate things eventually and maybe share some kick ass vegan soups recipes that had everyone over-eating they were so damn good, people were going on and on, they were book worthy.
Good news though, got back to Kansas to find the city has without discussion just one day brought up and voted to OK guns in all city properties and buildings except a police station, anywhere the city council is holding a meeting or official function, and two sports complexs. Of all the sports fields and parks why these two, only, must be their kids play there. Also, a guy the same day went to a shooting range where you can just walk in and rent guns to shoot, picked out a gun slapped a clip in it whipped it into his mouth and splatted his brains all over the walls.

ReplyDeleteHope you had a great time. I loved Austin the month I was going to the NCO Academy at Bergstrom. Got seriously smoked and sunburnt down on the river.
The Kroger up on 71st street by me had a young want-ta-bee John Dillinger try and rob the place and a store manager pulled out his nine and smoked the asshole. Now, the manager is in deep shit over violating company rules by bringing the gun into the workplace. Indiana law allows you to bring a gun to work but leave in in a locked box in the car.
You know how I feel about handguns. Kroger should have had armed security on site - well the neighborhood is a bunch of ghetto-ass apartments full of hoodlums. No guns- means that, no guns.
As far as that suicide thing - the same thing happened over at my friend Don's place - a guy rented a gun and then shot himself.
Maybe Squatio is right - suicide centers. Maybe some Jim Jones kool-aid. I mean, Doctor Kervokian is dead...

The news tonight said this was the second suicide at a shooting range in the last few days. You gotta love this new "everyones gotta have a gun society".
