Canada your next, hell fire and lies.

The fossil fuel industry and the status quo energy marketers are headed to Canada.  The percent of Canadians who understand the current climate changes under way is very high compared to the US.  The US consumes and believes much of the climate deniers propaganda and lies, Koch and BP and many others spend millions flooding (giving) the media with pre-written pseudo science stories and McLying  happy talk, and it works.  The public in the US shifts constantly towards the position being sold.
Last week it was reported Koch is hiring advertisers in Canada, writers, speakers, and lobbyist at local and national levels to deliver to Canada the same ignorant shit as they sell here.  Money will flow, lies will be told.  Will Canada buy it, will they begin to block alternative fuels, and loosen up laws on pollution?
Europe is already under attack, how did they miss Canada, well the correction is made.
Happy Earth Day Maple Leafs, lets see if you have better critical thinking skills than your southern neighbors.

I spent a couple of years up there on the pine tree line north of Winnepeg and one thing for sure the cold makes one w i d e awake in a relative sense to their southern neighbors! I was actually on the Airforce drill team and we marched at various Canadian events.

The Canadians are smarter than Americans. They have a good national health care system in place.

  4. Well..... I think Canadians are about as dumb as we are, and as to the health care system....

I just met another Canadian - who is a friend of one of my friends, who's here in the states getting having surgery. Shit! This is the 3rd time THIS YEAR!

Seems it's a little hard to get certain surgeries up there in Canada, land of the great health care system.

oh yes - the type of surgery? Gallbladder

    sheeeet! Hi-Tech Stuff there, eh?

  6. Skinny, I think they will be smarter than us on issues relating to reason and science, they have (at least the last few years) much better schools than us. It seems they are learning math and science and history and foreign languages. Novel idea.

  7. Whit, and Ice.
    I agree with you Whit.
Ice, Up until a few months ago I sold a Canadian made industrial product, we had service men and installers here all the time, I was the number one salesman for them, in the world. Those guys were happy with their medical care, we talked about it often for the last 15 years. They had a few gripes, but overwhelmingly it was positive. They use to marvel at the number of poeple here in poor health who had only the emergency room as a resort when things got bad enough.
I know there are some examples of people coming here for medical treatment from Canada, and Europe, likewise there are people going to Thailand and Europe from here for treatments they feel will be superior, this is always the case.
In the extended family we have Canadians, as with my business assoicates, with the family we talk about this a lot. Not one of them want to change to our system and try to get insurance after a heart attack or cancer, they know it may be impossible.
