Trumped

Obama releases birth records without prior notice.  Excellent.  Fox says it's "a so called birth certificate", yes please keep it alive, excellent.  Trump calls himself a hero for forcing the president to release it and laying the issue to rest, remember he had evidence to the contrary a few days ago, excellent.  Trump says the whole thing is the press's fault for making such a deal of it, excellent.  I turn to Fox, for the only minute of viewing it in a couple weeks and the beautiful sarcastic soap opera news reader is saying it's Trump's fault, he brought it up, he sure did she repeats, excellent.  Obama says we have more problems to solve than this silly shit, which pins the 2012 candidates to the mat, the first one that stands up and agrees with this will face the rath of the birthers, excellent.

  1. 45 minutes from where I live lies ElDorado Kansas. Obama's mother lived there and his grandparents for many years, they worked in the aircraft plants during WWII. A group has been trying to raise money to put a small marker or statue somewhere in ElDorado noting this historical fact, no doubt a few people would stop by to see it, a small tourist attraction to go along with a couple local hero types and an oil equipment museum. Being a severe red state, either (I don't recall now) the mayor or the county commissioner has stated they will not allow it and should it ever get installed through some other bodies efforts they will order it's destruction. This is the hostility and hatred in Koch's GOP dominated Kansas. The group has dropped their efforts to honor Obama's mother.

  2. fringe,

While I'm glad that Obama put an end to the silliness, I still see the birthers continuing on with their theories. Of course, now, it will be that the birth certificate has been fabricated. If he has the ability and resources to print money, after all, he certainly has the reources to have a fake birth certificate printed. This will be the reasoning.

It is not over for the birthers. They'll just find a new tack.

Your right and of course this is what I hope for. It is important that my brother and his friends hang on to their fantasy, my old white haired brother gets a lot of pleasure out of "knowing" the truth about Obama and telling racist jokes. He dearly wants Trump to run, as do I.

  4. It is unreasonable to expect to be able to reason with unreasonable people...

  5. Fringe,
Some blogger argues that it was he, not Trump who "forced the President's hand." And they're already moving on (apologies to MoveOn) with claims that Obama has multiple Social Security numbers and calls for him to release his academic records. All of this strikes me and many other outside observers as a typical con game - divert attention from the fact that the GOP, Tea Party, and their ilk are bereft of any ideas apart from "DON'T TAX OUR POOR WEALTHY."
