happiness is energy independence

A city (unknown) in Japan.   More than half of these homes have PV solar and/or solar water heaters on roof.  This is security from power failure and weather events.  It's all about will and priorities.
Last month when India's hundreds of millions plunged into darkness, a few millions in rural villages had communal and private solar and wind systems, they went right on with their lives unaware at first the nation had collapsed around them.

  1. After what happened at Fukeshima likely prompted this urgent move by the Japanese to non-nuclear power sources. Already we are seeing strange mutations in butterflies on Honshu (the main island). My worry is about what affect the radiation dischage did to the sealife in the western Pacific?

    Good post!

  2. This has probably been developed over many years. There are too many solar panels for this to have happened overnight.

Germany is another place where there are a lot of rooftop solar panels. Europe and Asia are moving ahead with alternative energy while our paid whores(see previous post comments) are doing their damnedest to prevent it!!
