ReplyDeleteWe had a B-52 driver on wing staff that got knocked down in the Christmas "72 Linebacker II bomb raids on Hanoi and Haipong and he told me about McCain as a POW in North Vietnam. The story is that Bud Day, Robbie Reisner, and Jim Stokwell wanted McCain courtmartialed for colloboration with the enemy and Nixon said no.

I can't blame a guy for cracking after having your arms pulled from their sockets so many times the one is of no use, but I do blame him for coming back as a dick and not owning up to his sins in the POW camp. Then to continue this dickishness in his personal life and especially in his public life is inexcusable. He has done a few things I admire him for, but the account doesn't balance, he is barely human by my additions.
