out of this convention, running against twiddle dee and tweedle dum's negative downbeat hate fest in Tampa, then the Gods are all dead, Olympus is vacant.
Jumped on the Obama site and gave $50 as soon as the speech was over, what the hell do I need 50 bucks for if Rmoney wins? It won't make a dent in the cost of my health care when they turn it over to the Insurance companies and Wall Street.
I know my opinion is suspect because of my well-known liberal bias, but I REALLY think this was one of the best-run, most effective conventions in my lifetime. Seemed like each speaker brought something worthy to the table, and overall they just hit the right notes, one after another.
ReplyDeleteComparing it to that empty chair bitch-fest in Tampa one has to wonder if there's anyone out there who prefered the GOP version of our political future? I saw one speaker after another who displayed marketable political skills for future elections, while the GOP trotted out Marco Rubio and maybe one other young gun worthy of a second glance. The rest were just retreads of the same of song.
I feel better about our chances!
Squatlo;
DeleteMe to, feel better, but still worried. The first two polls out says Obama's numbers are climbing. But the corporate machine is going to kick in soon with hundreds of millions.
What scares me is the GOP's constant effort to limit the vote by voter ID laws and limited early voting (Which the bastards just gave up on doing in Ohio in the face of a US Court order). Kerry lost to Bush because of a low black voter turnout in Cleaveland. Well, it was rainy and cold and blacks detest bad weather and Kerry was white.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this will be different.
I will tell you this - Romney etal tries to steal the election - there will be blood in the streets.
