Kansas, what a fucking train wreck:
*Legislation is proposed to allow religious symbols and statements on public buildings/property/paperwork. The law will say that religious symbols are permitted if they have a significant historical presence in the community. So the courthouses will get crosses over the doors, , jesus paintings in the school halls. But even if the area becomes predominately Hindu or Islamic, they have no long history in the community so they may never use Shiva or a Buddha image or Islamic calligraphy or Star of David. What the christianistas overlooked is there may be some townships that could hang scalps and boil puppies at city hall, Apache big medicine complies.
*Gov. Brownback is pushing through a change in selection of judges, they will be appointed by the Gov., reducing to meaningless participation the legislature and the BAR. Putin did this too.
*Brownback cut the funding and the staff of the states ethical board. What do you expect, they caught him holding meetings in his house, violation of open meetings law.
*HIV testing will stop immediately at (the few remaining downsized) state operated health service providers to the poor. The best thing is to have HIV guys ignorant of their condition and pass it to other sinners so they will all die.
*New study of replacing state income tax with sales tax, the gift to rich and corporations is from 3 to 15%, the new burden for the poorest, 3 to 5% tax increase and equal loss of buying power. Houses and airplanes will be exempt. See you can't tax airplanes or the poor won't buy em.
*Legislature is looking at a law being considered in other red states, making it illegal for temporary workers to gather in public. This to prevent poor skilled workers gathering at lumber yards offering labor so they can Fucking Eat!
*Wisconsin style law against unions is being talked about, if only we could bust all the unions homeschoolers would have one more thing to feel superior about.
*With only a few dozen Democrats holding office state wide, anywhere, Brownback railed at a GOP dinner, you are not doing enough he fumed, win it all, not a Dem elected anywhere in the state. I can't make this shit up, you would not believe it.
**Nullification. The state is starting to mumble about this, passing laws saying federal laws do not apply here, authorizing state police to arrest federal employees if they work on or enforce what ever we nullify. Nullification is not new. The southern states passed the same laws in the year or two leading up to the civil war. How'd that work out for'em, shit They even had Guns.
