The wife is helping a relative in another state figure out which of her companies healthcare plans is a best fit. Wife is smart, and a certified advisor for people signing up for medicare. This isn't medicare but private, yet from what she learned about comparing insurance plans helps here, a lot.
She told me that the process was easier than when we were doing this for ourselves a few years ago. Easier because the insurance companies preparing for the Affordable Healthcare / Obama care, now present their information in an easy to compare format, before it was hard to compare because every company displayed it the way that suited them best. It's still not easy to understand she said, but much better than before. That's one more good thing ain't it?
For a lay person it seems like it will still be fairly difficult.
ReplyDeleteFringe and One Fly,
DeleteThat is why we have insurance agents...
And, trust me - there is going to a lot of money made selling ObamaCare..
Darrel,
Tell the wife to look at advantage plans by United Health Care.
I have Mom on a NO premium plan.
Ron
Sarge - are you blogging at a new place??
ReplyDeleteSarge, it is not an open choice, no agents involved here, the relative's employer has a menu of plans she can choose from, from 2 or 3 insurance companies. She has to pick from those only, and it is not medicare, there is no NO premium plan for her to pick. It's pretty amazing, most people have a take it or leave it insurance option at work, she has several.
ReplyDeleteOne Fly, right, it's still clear as mud to me, but the wife says it is at least now being set up on a common format, a bit easier to compare.
Sarge got shut down for being a potty mouth, he had to open a new store at: http://onedrunkenoldsergeant.blogspot.com/
Potty mouth?
DeleteBeen called some nasty things before - But, potty mouth?
Ron
Yes, your a potty mouth sometimes. OK, One Fly, just kidding Sarge here. His blog showed on some kind of computer profiling thingie as a source of Spam. Believe me, I know Sarge, he is not distributing spam, if his blog was an engine for it then it was cloned by some hacker. Most likely the software used is worthless at detecting spam sources.
